DENVER (KDVR) — Police and Denver Public Schools are investigating allegations of a sexual assault reported at Northfield High School on Monday.A 14-year-old girl says a 16-year-old fellow student raped her in the bathroom. WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A Colorado woman is facing felony charges after allegedly soaking a letter in narcotics and mailing it to a man at the Weld County jail. Weld County Sheriff's Capt. Matt Turner said his team noticed the mail while sorting through incoming mail back in April."This piece of mail that came in was discolored. It didn’t look like normal white paper," he said. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Organizers of the global climate summit offered a new proposal early Wednesday seeking to bridge a yawning divide over whether to shut down fossil fuels in the name of saving the planet.The latest compromise text, published by the United Arab Emirates conference hosts after marathon overnight consultations, would commit countries to developing plans for “transitioning away from fossil fuels in energy systems … in this critical decade.” It says this shift should occur “in a just, orderly, and equitable manner,” with the aim of bringing net greenhouse gas pollution to zero by 2050 — “in keeping with the science.”The text still needs consensus approval from nearly 200 nations at the summit, any one of which could sink the deal. That decision could come as early as Wednesday.

San Diego County home sales down, prices up slightly in November: report

SAN DIEGO -- Home sales in San Diego County declined while prices up-ticked this month, according to a report.The Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® (SDAR), a company that uses data from the San Diego Multiple Listing Service (SDMLS), released its study Monday showing single-family resale home sales, were down by more than 17% in November compared to October. The median price of single-family homes rose 2% to $980,000.Condominiums and townhomes sales, which were nearly 15% lower than last month, have a median price of $667,500, a 1% jump compared to October, according to SDAR. HARVEY, Ill.  — The brother of former south suburban Mayor Eric Kellogg has been convicted of shaking down operators of a strip club in Harvey.After a week-long trial, a jury convicted 71-year-old Rommell Kellog, a Harvey Resident, of obtaining money by threat from the strip club.According to the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Illinois, Kellog was convicted on five counts, including conspiracy to commit theft and intimidation and causing the use of facilities in interstate commerce to promote theft and intimidation.The conviction was announced in a press release sent out on Tuesday afternoon.
