Colorado Amazon drivers sue over claims of 'dehumanizing' labor violations

DENVER (KDVR) -- Three delivery drivers in Colorado filed a class action complaint against Amazon on Monday, citing violations of labor laws and discriminatory practices in not providing bathroom breaks.The complaint alleges that delivery drivers are forced to urinate and defecate in bags and bottles in the back of delivery vans, "all so Amazon can maintain its breakneck delivery schedules and record-breaking profits," according to a release from Towards Justice law firm. WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (KDVR) -- Two people suspected of shoplifting approximately $200,000 from Denver metro King Soopers stores were arrested Monday, according to police in Wheat Ridge.Officers were called to a King Soopers store after employees recognized a man and a woman as frequent and wanted shoplifting suspects.When they arrived, officers found they had two carts full of nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise. Colorado cities are some of the most expensive to raise children The franchise told police the same people were responsible for thefts at stores across the metro area in the last few months.WRPD said detectives were in contact with other jurisdictions to figure out if the two are suspects in other similar thefts or if they are connected to any organized retail theft rings.

Police make arrest after stabbing inside Star Market in Mattapan

One person was taken to an area hospital and one person was arrested after a stabbing inside a Star Market store on River Street in Mattapan Tuesday, police said. Boston police said a call came in shortly after 3:30 p.m. reporting the incident. The victim, police said, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Photos given to 7NEWS by one shopper showed police surrounding the deli counter inside the Star Market Tuesday afternoon. Another shopper said police told her the stabbing involved employees. “I’ve never seen anything like that before here,” the shopper said. “I mean, it’s usually just a very quiet place.”Police cleared the scene shortly before 5:15 p.m. Before they did so, though, officers were seen bringing a man out of the store with his hands behind his back.
