Stroud, taken second overall in this year’s draft, isn’t worried about the fact that the Panthers picked No. 1 selection Bryce Young as their starter on Day 1 of training camp while the Houston Texans are making him compete for the job.“I’m happy for him, but his situation is his situation, and my situation is mine,” Stroud said Sunday. “So, I know that I’ve got to work on my end and do whatever I’ve got to do to make this team better. It’s not about the starter (or) who’s not the starter, it’s about getting better for Week 1 against Baltimore.”Stroud is vying with Davis Mills to be the team’s quarterback. Man arrested for stabbing death in Northeast DC

A man has been arrested and charged in a fatal stabbing on Friday in Northeast D.C.In a news release, D.C. police said that 59-year-old Joseph Ballard of Northeast, D.C., has been charged with second degree murder while armed.According to police, Ballard allegedly killed 33-year-old Monte Daniels of no fixed address, early Friday morning in the 1600 block of Benning Road in Northeast.When officers responded to the scene around 5:38 a.m., they found Daniels, who was suffering from stab wounds. After D.C. Fire and EMS arrived, Daniels was transferred to a hospital where he died.Source

DENVER (KDVR) -- A woman died after being struck by a vehicle in the Del Mar Parkway neighborhood in Aurora on Saturday night.The crash was reported at 8:53 p.m. near the intersection of Dayton Street and East 10th Avenue. Police in Aurora said a Mazda was driving northbound on Dayton when it struck a woman who was crossing mid-block near 10th Avenue. APD investigate after 16-year-old with gunshot wound left at hospital The woman was taken to a local hospital but later died from her injuries.The driver of the Mazda remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.APD said Impairment is not a contributing factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

DENVER (KDVR) -- Police in Aurora are investigating after a 16-year-old was dropped off at a local hospital after suffering from a gunshot wound early Sunday morning.Police were called to the hospital at 1:06 a.m. The shooting occurred in the area of the 13100 block of East 16th Avenue, but the exact location was unknown, APD said. 1 dead in crash on I-70 in Denver The victim was taken to the hospital by an unknown person in the victim's pickup truck. The person then drove off. The truck was later found in Denver.The teen was stabilized before going into surgery and is expected to survive.
